Aalok Thakkar: Poetry

Akasofu, 1964

When I see the Northern Lights,
I choose to forget
All Theories of Physics.

I choose to forget the four phases in which
the magnetic sphere interacts with
some particles from solar winds.

I let the jargon fade into a horizon—
A horizon drenched in
Willful Unexplainability.

In awe, I gaze upon the tides in the sky.
I let myself be—
He who exists—
Without asking why.
