Course Description: This independent study module focuses on a self-directed exploration of probability theory, guided by The Theory of Probability: Explorations and Applications by Santosh S. Venkatesh. Students will complete assigned exercises from the text and participate in discussions to analyze and refine their understanding of key concepts. There will be no formal lectures or instruction; the module is designed to foster independent learning, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving.
Evaluation: Active participation (including completing the required problem sets and readings) is critical to the learning experience. There are no assignments beyond the required problem sets and readings.
Attendance Policy: Attendance is mandatory and only two unexcused absences will be permitted. Excessive absences will impact your grade.
